SHADOW WAR is a web serial (7-9 minute episodes) that will follow the exploits of Locke Kincaid, a Ninja vigilante who wears the armor and mask of the ONI, a powerful demonic warrior from Japanese mythology. Fueled by vengeance and driven by his code of honor, Locke strikes fear into any who would prey on the innocent.
At Locke's side is Jade, a female Ninja who prefers modern weapons over the classical armaments used by the Ninja of old.
Together with a small team of skilled Ninja, Locke and Jade use their skills to fight evil in a city plagued by crime and corruption.
The SHADOW WAR serial comes from the mind of Mark Steven Grove. A lifelong practitioner of Ninjutsu, Mark first began teaching the art of the Ninja in 1983 and he has maintained a Dojo (training hall) ever since. He has also worked in the film industry since the late 80's as an actor, fight choreographer, stunt coordinator, firearms handler, pyrotechnician, special effects supervisor, and historical consultant. In 1999 he transitioned to the directors chair and began writing, producing and directing his own feature film projects.
SHADOW WAR will also benefit from the wisdom of veteran action coordinators James Lew and Rick Avery who will direct various episodes throughout the seasons.
It seems like James Lew has fought just about everyone. Jackie Chan, Jet Li, Steven Seagal, Jean Claude Van Damme, Mel Gibson, Brad Pitt, Ashton Kutcher, Tom Cruise, Dwayne Johnson, David Carradine, Chuck Norris, Kurt Russell, Madonna, Charlie Sheen, Sylvester Stallone, Brandon Lee, and the list goes on and on. James recently won the Emmy for "Outstanding Stunt Coordination" on the Marvel/Netflix series LUKE CAGE.
Rick Avery is a stuntman, stunt coordinator, actor, director, helicopter pilot, and aerial coordinator with over 600 fearture film, television, and commercial credits. He is the recipient of multiple awards including the 2009 Taurus World Stunt Award for "Best Vehicular Work" on THE DARK KNIGHT. Rick has already visited Denver in early 2018 to direct episode two for season one of SHADOW WAR.
Our cast is filled with amazing actors and stunt performers, but we are especially excited to have Tyler Weaver Jr., one of the world’s top martial arts forms competitors. He currently holds 44 Multi-Circuit World Titles in NASKA, ISKA, NBL and ATA. Tyler also made history by being the first one to receive “Perfect 10’s” from all the judges at the WAKO World Championships held at Ireland on Nov 2015. His amazing acrobatic fighting style and weapon skills will be highlighted in SHADOW WAR!
Aside from delivering an action-packed experience, SHADOW WAR has a secondary goal of caring for a very special young man.
Mark Steven Grove has a special needs son named Hunter. Hunter was born January 25th 1998 and it was immediately evident he was special. He was born with three brain abnormalities, cerebral palsy and many other health issues.
When he was young it was hard to take care of his needs, but as he has grown it has proven much harder. As of this writing he is 20 years old and only weighs 71 pounds. He requires constant supervision as his health continues to diminish.
Mark's normal process of spending extended periods of time away from home to work on projects has proven difficult so he has adapted his daily life to being Hunter's caregiver. Because of this drastic lifestyle change he has turned to writing instructional books, feature film scripts, and developing web based projects that will allow him to remain by Hunter's side while still pursuing artistic endeavors.
We have a small group of film professionals that share Mark's passion who are dedicated assisting him with his vision. However, despite these amazing personnel resources, these episodes have very limited budgets, so we are turning to crowdfunding to assist us in making the SHADOW WAR serial the best it can be.
Supporting gets you great stuff like posters, t-shirts, unique props, and even the possibility of being listed in the credits.
