SYNOPSIS
In 15th century Japan, a fearless warrior named Asura receives a mystical sword from a half-human, half-crow being known as a Tengu - a creature of legend and guardian of balance. The blade grants him immortality, but also binds him to an eternal oath: to defend humanity from the forces of darkness.
For centuries, Asura has walked the Earth, unseen and unyielding, battling evil wherever it arises. But now, in the modern age, the past has returned with vengeance. The sorcerer Tanaro, who murdered Asura’s master centuries ago, has risen again - his spirit possessing the body of a metropolitan police officer. Using his newfound position and a network of fanatical followers, Tanaro seeks to awaken Akuma, an ancient evil god of destruction.
Asura must once again take up his sacred blade and confront his timeless enemy. With the aid of his apprentices - the disciplined Kotori and the fierce Domino - and Detective Drake Forrester, a mortal ally unaware of the true scope of the war he’s entered, Asura races to stop Tanaro from collecting the sacred artifacts that will open a portal to the underworld.
