 02-28-21 The first stunt workshop of 2021 was a huge success with 25 performers working on refining fight choreography skills and learning to communicate with the camera. Next month... breakfalls, stair falls, over object falls!

 02-01-21 The independent fantasy film GATHERING OF HEROES: LEGEND OF THE SEVEN SWORDS starring Martin Kove and Mark Grove will release on the FANTASY NETWORK February 2nd 2021.  

 11-01-20  This years AFM is being held entirely online, so although we won't be visiting sunny Santa Monica like normal, we will still be showing our current lineup of feature films to buyers from around the world!

Carl Ciarfalio beat Tom Cruise to a pulp, manhandled Brad Pitt, was shot point blank by Kiefer Sutherland, and had his head crush in a vice by Joe Pesci.  He's been a Star Trek alien, a comic book hero, a prisoner, prison guard, thug, sailor, soldier, and spy.  He's crashed cars and motorcycles, been set on fire, drowned in the ocean, and thrown off cliffs and buildings.  Even though he's been killed a hundred times... he keeps coming back for more. 

 Rick Avery is a stuntman, stunt coordinator, actor, director, helicopter pilot, and aerial coordinator with over 600 fearture film, television, and commercial credits.  He won the Screen Actors Cast Award for "Traffic", the Best Stunt Ensemble Award for "Batman Dark Knight", and the 2009 Taurus World Stunt Award for Best Vehicular Work in "Batman Dark Knight".  He is also the recipient of the 2016 Action Icon Award at the Action on Film Festival. 

Chuck Borden has appeared and performed in almost 400 productions. He has coordinated big stars such as Val Kilmer, Will Ferrell, Dustin Hoffman, Ewan McGregor, and many, many more. He also is one of the only stuntmen to be featured on a Star Trek collectors card.  He has recently been nominated for a 2019 Emmy Award for his Stunt Coordination on the Netflix series The Haunting of Hill House.  

   Mark Steven Grove is a celebrated figure in the film industry, excelling as an actor, stuntman, martial artist, and fight coordinator. His expertise in Ninjutsu has facilitated a varied career, contributing to over 120 projects with his diverse talents in fight choreography, stunt coordination, and special effects. He also founded Rocky Mountain Stunts, LLC, focusing on the advancement of stunt performance and offering training for aspiring stunt performers. His dedication to nurturing new talent and his broad skill set across filmmaking disciplines have established him as a key influencer in independent cinema, embodying a passion for both martial arts and cinematic creativity. 

  Simon Rhee, a distinguished stuntman, martial artist, and actor, is celebrated for his impact on action cinema. Coming from a martial arts family, he trained in Taekwondo and Hapkido with his brother, Phillip Rhee, achieving black belts in both. Rhee's career in Hollywood is marked by his expertise in martial arts and his innovative stunt coordination, making him a top choice for films like "Inception," "The Dark Knight Rises," and TV's "Westworld." His acting is notable in "Best of the Best" (1989), where he starred with his brother. Rhee's contributions to martial arts, stunt work, and acting have made him a respected figure in the film industry, enhancing the action genre and inspiring peers and fans.  

  James Lew is a celebrated actor, martial artist, and stunt coordinator with a decades-long career in entertainment. Known for his mastery in martial arts and innovative stunt coordination, Lew has earned black belts in Kung Fu, Taekwondo, and Hapkido. This expertise has made him a key player in films like "Big Trouble in Little China," "Lethal Weapon 4," and "Inception," as well as in TV shows including "Marvel's Luke Cage," where he won an Emmy for Outstanding Stunt Coordination. Beyond his cinematic achievements, Lew mentors aspiring stunt performers and champions stunt work recognition, influencing future martial artists and stunt professionals in Hollywood.

   Sara N. Salazar excels as an actress, stunt performer, action coordinator, and practical effects expert, also specializing in mentoring the next generation of stunt talent. Her expertise spans fight choreography, wire effects, and falls. Significantly, Salazar is the top-ranked female in the Kurai Kotori Ryu martial arts system, dedicating substantial time to teaching the nuanced disciplines of Ninja and Samurai arts. Her commitment not only elevates the realms of stunt work and martial arts in entertainment but also ensures the legacy and skills of these ancient practices are passed on, reflecting her profound influence on both her students and the industry.  

  Mark Anthony Baca has been working in film the past 30 years.  Starting his Carrier in stunts and eventually acting on the big screen to producing films. Winning many awards for stunts, including his Official Emmy Award win in 2024!  

A 6th Degree Black Belt and weapons expert among many other things, Mark Anthony brings a lot to the table with his team to the film and television process ! 

Most recently Mark Anthony has been hired as a stunt coordinator and safety for the “Ben Affleck” film “The Accountant 2”. Warner Bros. loved working with Mark Anthony and his team so much that they also hired him as a stunt Coordinator for the press Junkets promotions of the “Minecraft”  Movie with Jason Mamoa and Jack Black.

 Mark Steven Grove has always had an innate affinity for bringing the vivid worlds of his imagination to life. His initial steps into special effects began when he designed and constructed a full-size dragon puppet at just 14 years old. Once he started working professionally in the film industry, this relentless drive to create was fueled by greater resources and advanced tools, allowing him to explore and master nearly every aspect of the craft. He earned a variety of awards early in his career for his innovations in special effects, including recognition for both creativity and technical execution. Mark thoroughly enjoys serving as a SPFX Supervisor or Foreman, where he builds and leads skilled teams of exceptionally talented artists who specialize in designing and executing practical effects for the screen. 

Mark Viniello began honing his craft with industry titans Tom Woodruff Jr. and Alec Gillis. Early roles in legendary films like The Santa Clause, Jumanji, Tremors II, Starship Troopers, and Alien: Resurrection. Mark’s career soared as he contributed to a cascade of blockbuster hits that include Austin Powers 2: The Spy Who Shagged Me, Where the Wild Things Are, and the monumental Jurassic Park III.  He left his mark on popular series such as NBC's Heroes, CBS's CSI: NY, and HBO's renowned True Blood.  In 2015, Mark assumed the role of Project Supervisor at Spectral Motion. is leadership was instrumental in crafting extraordinary creatures for Netflix's Stranger Things, Bright, Avengers: Infinity War, Amazon Prime's The Tomorrow War, as well as Disney’s beloved series The Mandalorian and Ahsoka.  

  Kevon Ward is an accomplished alum of multiple seasons of the hit television series Face Off, a competition show that highlights and challenges the skills of the world’s most talented makeup artists. Kevon is an artist through and through, with a deep passion for visual storytelling. His talents span a wide range of disciplines, from drawing and painting to designing, casting, and applying advanced prosthetic makeup. He also builds giant 3-dimensional sculptures and creates amazing puppets, props, and costume pieces. Kevon has become an invaluable resource to the Colorado film community, generously offering his expertise to numerous independent productions and delivering high-level makeup effects, realistic wounds, detailed creatures, and imaginative, screen-ready costumes that elevate every project.
